HMI Update – June 1, 2020

Hahn Mason will be “re-opening” the local offices on June 01, 2020. We have all had to make significant behavioral changes to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Those efforts must to continue! Good hygiene is a cornerstone for minimizing the risk of infectious diseases.  In addition to the local branch plans developed by the Branch Managers, the following guidelines have been established:

• Working from an office is a matter of personal choice.  HMI employees have the ability to work remote, as applicable

• Social distancing (specifically, staying 6 feet away from others when you must go into a shared space)

• The warehouse will continue to not allow customers in the building and service customers from the door/vehicles. We anticipate loosening this restriction in Phase 3 of the State of North Carolina’s Re-opening Guidance.

• The continued use of virtual and/or collaboration tools

• Frequently washing hands or use alcohol-based (at least 60% alcohol) hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available

• Wearing cloth (or other) face coverings, as applicable

• Avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth

• Staying home when sick, or if symptoms present

• Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces

• All visitors will be provided a mask and gloves as needed

It is important to continue to follow federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local guidance for reopening businesses and America. By following these practices, we can help flatten the curve and hopefully limit the spread of COVID-19.

Memorial Day – May 25, 2020

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2020 occurs on Monday, May 25. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings, and participating in parades. Today our reality has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we may not be able to do some of the things that we have done in the past.  Nevertheless, it does not change our appreciation and remembrance of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Hahn Mason is closed on Monday May 25, 2020.

Vikor Scientific Upfit

Hahn-Mason Air Systems, Inc teamed up with Cullum Constructors in Charleston, SC!  J. Musselman Construction, Inc. contracted Cullum for the mechanical portion of the Vikor Scientific upfit. This three-quarter of a million-dollar HVAC installation included lab facilities located on the 4th and 8th floors. A total of 2,690 man-hours between supervision, fabrication, and installation were required. Installation included over 2,700 linear feet of material for condensate piping, refrigerant piping, and duct tied into 22 variable air volume (VAV) boxes, 10 Loren Cook exhaust and supply fans, two Trane package units, 100% outside air roof top units (RTUs) that included factory-mounted DDC controllers and sensors, and a Trane ductless mini-split air conditioning unit with electric reheat.

HMI Update 3-25-20

Hahn-Mason remains open for business.

As many are aware, Mecklenburg County has issued a “Stay at Home” order, effective 8 a.m. Thursday, March 16th through Thursday April 16th.  Due to the nature of our business (we are a “critical trade”) we are keeping the warehouse open and available to the community.  We continue to follow the “social distancing” strategy, so when customers arrive at the warehouse to pick up their order, we ask that they please call us at 704-523-5344.  We will pull your order and bring it to your vehicle or place it on the dock for self-loading.

HMI Corporate functions and the Local Branch Offices are continuing with our work remote policy. Our personnel remain available via email and phone.

The majority of our manufacturers remain open and in steady production.  However, some of our manufacturers that are located in states who have implemented “Stay at Home” orders are starting to broadcast a slowdown or prioritization of orders.  Please contact your HMI representative for specific order information or details on shipments that may be impacted.

Thank you and stay safe.

HMI Update 3-20-20

As you are aware, the number of cases of COVID-19 in North and South Carolina continues to increase daily. The transfer of this virus from person to person (“community spread”) is increasing and we continue to monitor the evolving guidelines coming from local, state and federal officials.

Currently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state that people should practice social distancing by remaining at least 6 feet apart to minimize the risk of unintended spread of the virus. Additionally, gatherings of groups of 10 or more people are currently discouraged. To follow these guidelines and do our part to mitigate the impacts of the virus on those most vulnerable in our community, HMI has adopted the following policies we feel will best help our employees stay healthy:

“Social Distancing:” – HMI has adopted this strategy.  All travel and in-person job-site meetings are discouraged. We ask that everyone utilize technology / virtual meetings, as appropriate.

Warehouse: The Warehouse is in operation with a reduced number of employees physically on-premises. We are encouraging the use of courier services for all orders. We are limiting the number of personnel in the building to less than 10 people. Additionally, we are asking that customers call ahead and let us know when they are on site. We will load the material into vehicles or place outside for self-loading. As a reminder, the warehouse is first come, first serve. Currently, our manufacturers are not reporting a shortage of materials or delay in delivery of materials.

Accounting: Corporate Accounting is in operation with a reduced number of employees physically on-premises. We plan to have a full staff available for end of month activities.

Local Branch Offices: We are continuing with our work remote policy. Our personnel remain available via email and phone.

**********

We appreciate your patience as we continue to develop policies that make the most sense during this unconventional time. We realize many of you are facing challenges at work and home, so we hope to continue making our services accessible to our employees and customers as much as possible as we navigate the next few weeks. HMI will monitor conditions on an ongoing basis and adjust our plans if needed.

Please take care of all your activities and use common sense – if you or any family member do not feel well please seek medical attention. Should the situation change in such a way that requires further modifications we will keep everyone informed.

Update on Hahn Mason Air System’s Coronavirus Contingency Plan

We wanted to share an update on our efforts to help keep our operations up and running during the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

HMI is closely monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and the local, state, and federal government and we are taking several precautionary measures for the health and safety of our customers and team members.

Experts suggest that the only way to stop this virus is to limit contamination. To that goal, we are temporarily instituting a remote work policy. We will still maintain a critical function at our warehouse and in our internal business functions.

Our goal is to do everything we can to keep our operations up and running and people safe during this unprecedented and evolving situation.  While we have asked our employees to limit customer contact, we understand they still need to support our customers and have instructed everyone to use their discretion for all meetings, site visits, etc…. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your HVAC needs.
